GaitAI FallRisk
Surface mobility deterioration and fall-risk indicators for earlier review.
FallRisk combines gait, balance, movement variability, posture and longitudinal change into an interpretable mobility-risk profile.

Problem
Gradual mobility decline can appear between scheduled assessments. A patient may still be walking independently while variability, balance or gait stability is worsening.
What GaitAI does
GaitAI compares multiple movement indicators and their changes over time to generate a low / medium / high mobility-risk category with visible contributing factors.
Who uses it
- Hospitals
- Elderly-care centres
- Home-care providers
- Physiotherapy
- Preventive-health programs
- Caregivers
What they receive
Example report values — illustrative, not measured performance claims.
The category is a movement-risk decision-support indicator: it says this person's movement profile has shifted in ways associated with reduced stability, and shows which signals drove that call. It is not a prediction that a specific individual will fall.
Why it matters
A visible risk category with named contributors gives care teams a structured basis for deciding who to review next, instead of relying on ad-hoc observation.
Example workflow
- 01Run a walking assessment (or reuse a WalkScan session)
- 02AI compares indicators against the person's own baseline
- 03Risk category and contributors are generated
- 04Care team reviews the summary
- 05Escalation or intervention is planned where needed
Deployment
- Works from periodic video assessments, WatchCare wearable trends, or both
- Ward-level and facility-level dashboards for care organisations
- Caregiver summaries written in plain language
- Configurable escalation criteria per facility
Research basis
Published work is the research foundation for the capabilities this product is built on. That record covers the movement-analysis methods themselves — it is not a validation of this product's outputs, and there is no clinical validation study, accuracy benchmark or trial result behind them.

Claim / capability: 6 published records inform shared platform capabilities this module uses (Gait recognition & biometrics, Pose-based gait analysis). The research does not address this module's application specifically.
Status: Available
Applicability: Shared capabilities such as pose estimation or temporal modelling are used by many modules.
Limitation: A shared-platform relationship is the weakest research link and must not be read as validating this module.

Privacy & responsible use
Designed to support consent-based capture, encrypted transfer, configurable retention and role-based access, with activity logging and skeleton-only processing modes. Deployment requirements depend on the applicable environment, organization and jurisdiction. Privacy-aware architecture does not automatically mean anonymity: pose, gait and trajectories may still carry identifying information. GaitAI outputs are AI-generated movement metrics intended as decision support — they do not diagnose medical conditions and do not replace clinical judgement.
Context & limitations
- The score is a movement-risk decision-support indicator — not a prediction that a specific individual will fall
- Depends on assessment cadence: infrequent assessments limit trend resolution
- Environmental and medical fall factors outside movement data are not captured
